Quote Them: Obama is short on cash, too

PS Of course, that doesn't include the "private, mother-daughter trip" to Spain next week for Michelle and Sasha where 30 rooms have been reserved in a five-star hotel in Benhavis near Marbella for their getaway. Or the 10 vacation days for the entire family at an "upscale northeastern resort island of Martha's Vineyard."

The Obamas really do get it. Just last week, my mom wanted to come visit me but couldn't afford the $10 lunch eating out. So we had to cancel our private, mother-daughter trip to Qdoba.

Good to know we have a President who understands the financial plight he's putting us all in.

Colorado or Bust

Hello rabid Conservatives.

Tomorrow I leave for Colorado and am absent for about 10 days. Yes, I have a house-sitter. He's a big guy, too, so don't even think about messing with my property. I'm a conservative, as is he, which means we're always armed and just itching for someone to give us a reason to shoot.

In preparation to leave, I've been totally swamped and unable to blog. The amount of work you have to complete before going on vacation requires vacation when you're finished. But it will be worth it. And I need some time in thinner air to spend writing.

I may blog while I'm gone. I may not. Since it's my vacation, I get to decide and no one can complain.

Thank you to all of you, little and small, big and tall, who tune in each week to hear my poignant, succinct, and insightful commentary. And for those who sit through my garbled ramblings, too.

I do have a few things I'm wanting to post today. But, oddly enough, my priorities today are grocery shopping and laundry. As I get time, IF I get time, I will be posting today. Then I'll be gone to soon return.

Living the Dream

Most people, when asked what they'd do with a large sum of money, say something like "take a vacation" or "buy a house" or even "pay off my bills." I'm not really into any of those things. I don't have money and I already take vacations, even if it means a good book, stretchy pants, and ten uninterrupted hours on my couch. I also have a home and, oddly enough, I usually even pay my bills. Well...most of the time.
If I had money, I'd do it differently. First, I'd drive 75 mph to Sam's Club, because fuel efficiency is for poor people. I'd go inside and purchase a Sam's membership, because using a friend's membership is for poor people. And I'd buy a container of blackberries, even though poor people can't afford $5 for 18 ounces of fruit.
Then I'd eat them.
