NY Congressman: You talkin' ta me?

The answers don't suit. People will hate the answers. This the Democrats know. So instead of answering questions, they simply refuse. Talking around, around, around any direct and easily answerable inquiry into the specifics of ObamaCare.

O'Reilly is asking a rather basic question: Who enforces the fines on people who don't buy health insurance? What government agency? And the NY Congressman Anthony Weiner simply won't answer. In fact, when O'Reilly explains that it is the IRS. Weiner responds with "that's not true."

Really Congressman? Then why is this bill paying for an additional 16,000 IRS agents? Can you at least answer that?

I wouldn't count on it.

Bloggers are calling this the "Who's on First" interview. I'd have to agree. Asking a Democrat any straightforward question is more like reciting a childhood rhyme than actually making progress. Who's enforcing this law? Oh, you know, it's just a law. Like littering. I'm not kidding. When it all comes down to it, that was his answer. Just a law. Just out there....like the wind. Blowing around listlessly demanding you either buy health insurance or pay a fine of 1% of your income.

Ed Morrissey at HotAir has the section of the health care bill that clearly identifies the government agency - IRS - that will be executing these fines, the agency this Congressman who voted for the bill refused to name:

Here’s the relevant clause on page 345:

(c) NOTIFICATION OF NONENROLLMENT.—Not later than June 30 of each year, the Secretary of the Treasury, acting through the Internal Revenue Service and in consultation with the Secretary of Health and Human Services, shall send a notification to each individual who files an individual income tax return and who is not enrolled in minimum essential coverage (as defined in section 5000A of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986). Such notification shall contain information on the services available through the Exchange operating in the State in which such individual resides.

Yep. Just like littering.
