The man rocks my world as a Congressman, always has. Sen. Tom Coburn is a home boy, an Oklahoma legislator who is there to stop the bleeding out of the private sector and clean the federal government's colon.
He's a doctor. I have to use these kinds of visuals. It can't be helped.
To be fair, he is giving the Democrats in the House a warning, a straight-eyed, stern-lipped, take-note warning. If you sell your vote, you will answer for it. Dang, I do so love a man of integrity on a mission.
The threat isn't coming out of thin, untainted air. Democrats have already been reportedly grabbing personal deals for their "yes" vote on ObamaCare, like Bart Gordon and a rumored job offer with NASA, John Tanner and his rumored ambassadorship, Joe Sestak and the rumored administration job, and Suzanne Kosmas and her rumored job with NASA, too.
Maybe they could offer Al Franken's old job at Saturday Night Life. Blago's on The Apprentice, proof these horrific television experiments happen.
ObamaCare is soooo popular. To get a "yes" vote, government jobs are being offered to House Democrats who will throw in the towel of a reelection bid and vote "yes". Sacrifice for Obama and he'll take care of you.
He's like a Don, except without the colorful New Jersey accent.
What Coburn is saying is basically: we won't let this happen. If House Dems sell their vote, they will answer for it. Republican legislators will find what amounts to a bribe and correct the corruption.
In other words, they are now the hunted.
