Saving the planet: $1,761 per family per year

We have no choice. We're destroying the planet by breathing and stuff. Paying taxes, however, makes it all better. We can sleep better. Feel better about ourselves.

And it will only cost Americans $1,761 more a year. You've got that in your back pocket, right? No big deal. $150 more a month. That's about the cost of my monthly groceries. Not like I need to eat.

The Obama administration has privately concluded that a cap and trade law would cost American taxpayers up to $200 billion a year, the equivalent of hiking personal income taxes by about 15 percent.

A previously unreleased analysis prepared by the U.S. Department of Treasury says the total in new taxes would be between $100 billion to $200 billion a year. At the upper end of the administration’s estimate, the cost per American household would be an extra $1,761 a year.

What would be the best thing to do with unemployment 9.7 percent, the dollar plummeting, debt skyrocketing, and our current President spiking the deficit more than all other Presidents combined?

We should put a tax on nothing. You pay and get nothing in return. Not better roads or better schools or an equipped military or food stamps or even a cooler planet (Taxes are not God. Besides the earth is cooling all on its own. Some people call that a cycle. Like everyone). You get nothing.

It's got Jimmy Carter all over it. And yes, I'm criticizing him because he's white.
